MDT2 - Help for Glucose & Meals

Pre and post-meal markers: Patients need to monitor their blood sugar frequently — usually before and after they eat — to make sure their levels don't get too high. MDT2 provides you with a pre and post-meal flagging to differentiate the measured glucose level before and after the meal, that you can see how much your sugar levels have gone up (or even down) between meals.

Post-meal readings are very useful, when you have pre-meal readings to compare with. Fasting blood glucose levels provide information about overnight blood glucose control. Monitoring before lunch and dinner provides information about overall diabetes control. The after-meal results can help you evaluate the effect of any insulin or oral drugs that you take with the intent of controlling after-meal blood glucose levels.

It's important to check your blood sugar at different times throughout the day to see the bigger picture of what's going on. Instead of "testing" your blood sugar, "monitor" it.

Pre- and post-workout meals play a key role in the effectiveness of diabetes control management. This is why regular monitoring is useful.
